Introduction

There are many ways to be involved in Bible translation as an IT specialist in the Wycliffe context. The whole subject of how you could or should be involved can be complex because Wycliffe is not a single organization with a single involvement path. This site exists to provide an IT oriented, structured presentation of the opportunities you could pursue.

Reasons to Get Involved in IT Missions with Wycliffe

There are many motivations for seeking involvement with Wycliffe. Here are a few of the good ones:

• You have had a consistent urging from God to get personally involved in His work.
• The sudden loss of your IT job, or difficulty in finding another one, has you spiritually prompted to question why an IT-gifted Christian exists.
• You have desired for a long time to redirect the financial resources that God has given you through your successful industrial IT career toward eternal purposes.
• You are convinced that a Christian's time, as well as his money, should be tithed to the Lord out of love for Him.
• You have been involved in other Kingdom ministries before, and you were amazed by the satisfaction and joy that this kind of worship brought.
• You just discovered that your IT skills are crucial to the modern missionary effort, and now there are new service opportunities to explore.
• You met a Wycliffe missionary at some event and God just changed your misconceptions about missionary service as you discovered how much you two had in common. Now there is a still, small voice saying "the truth has now set you free—to serve Me."

The Involvement Options

The involvement options for the Christian IT professional are shown below. We recommend you consider all the options, even if a particular one appeals to you more than the others. Your breadth of understanding will actually make a positive difference in the involvement you select, because you will likely be interacting with people in the other involvement categories.

• I would like to  pray for IT-specific Wycliffe needs
• I would like to  pray for a Bibleless people group
• I would like to  help support the ministry of an individual missionary
• I would like to be an IT volunteer.
• I would like to  pursue Wycliffe membership as an IT missionary
• I would like to consider Business as Missions
