You are here: Get Involved > Be an IT Intern You Can Be an IT InternThe North American offices of several Wycliffe-family organizations define interns as current college students or recent graduates with a major in an area of IT who come for an 8-10 week period during the summer for the purpose of working in some Wycliffe IT domain. Interns gain real IT work experience and generally make a significant contribution to Bible translation as well. In some cases the students are hired at the local minimum wage and in other cases they are expected to raise their own support. What the student earns is typically enough to cover expenses during that time period, but it will not provide much beyond that (i.e., adequate funds for schooling). At the present time, JAARS accepts and screens applications for the three centres in the USA that have internship programs: JAARS (Waxhaw, NC); Wycliffe Bible Translators USA (Orlando, FL); and International Linguistics Centre (Dallas, TX). Qualified applications are taken on a first-come, first selected basis, so it is important to apply early in the year for the limited number of positions.
